This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional to play a key role in managing electronic discovery projects, data subject access requests (DSARs) and wider regulatory compliance activities.

Reporting to the Data Privacy Officer (DPO) and working closely with the eDiscovery Manager, you will provide technical expertise across file reviews, data transfers and DSARs, supporting the firm's internal compliance requirements. You will also work with fee-earning teams, including Litigation, Employment and Dispute Resolution, providing eDiscovery support for disputes, investigations and claims.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of eDiscovery processes, litigation and data protection, alongside experience using relevant technologies to manage and organise data efficiently. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of workflows, recommend technological improvements and implement practical solutions that enhance the firm's eDiscovery capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end eDiscovery projects, including scoping, data collection, processing, document review and production.
  • Work collaboratively with fee-earning teams across Litigation, Employment, Dispute Resolution and Corporate to support disputes, investigations and transactional due diligence.
  • Advise stakeholders on eDiscovery best practices, technology solutions and defensible workflows.
  • Support the selection, implementation and ongoing management of eDiscovery platforms and tools.
  • Coordinate data collection and preservation activities, working closely with IT, Information Security and matter teams to maintain data integrity and chain of custody.
  • Develop and maintain eDiscovery workflows, protocols and quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide training and guidance to fee earners, paralegals and support staff on eDiscovery processes, tools and technology-assisted review.
  • Support the eDiscovery Manager, DPO and General Counsel's Office with DSARs, file reviews and other regulatory compliance matters.
  • Manage relationships with external eDiscovery vendors and service providers, ensuring cost-effective and efficient delivery.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines and progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders and escalating issues where necessary.
  • Keep up to date with developments in eDiscovery technology, legal requirements and industry best practice, recommending improvements to existing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory obligations, including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations.

  • Experience managing data collection, processing, review and production workflows.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with technology-assisted review (TAR), predictive coding or AI-powered review tools.
  • Experience handling DSARs and regulatory investigations.
  • Knowledge of digital forensics principles and data preservation techniques.
