An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Junior Patent Secretary (Level 3) to join a busy and well-established IP practice on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
The team is currently managing a high volume of work and is looking to strengthen capacity at junior level, making this a great opportunity for someone early in their IP career to gain hands-on experience and exposure within a supportive team.
You will join a collaborative secretarial team consisting of Coordinators and experienced Patent Secretaries, providing essential administrative support across the patent function.
The Role
This is a junior-level role offering a broad range of responsibilities and a strong learning opportunity. You will support senior team members with day-to-day patent administration and case management tasks.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing administrative support to Patent Attorneys and senior secretaries
- Assisting with document preparation and correspondence
- Maintaining and updating electronic files and case records
- Supporting with deadline management and diary tracking
- Uploading and managing data on internal systems
- Assisting with billing and invoicing processes
- Supporting the wider team with overflow work as required
About You
This role would suit a Junior Patent Secretary or Legal Administrator looking to build experience within intellectual property.
You will ideally have:
- Around 1 year’s experience in a legal or professional services environment (less experience will still be considered)
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Good attention to detail
- A proactive and flexible approach
- The ability to work well in a busy team environment
- An interest in developing a career within IP
