Our client, a top UK law firm, is actively recruiting for a Qualified Lawyer to join their fast-growing Risk & Compliance team in London - working as their new Risk & Compliance Lawyer.
You'll have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Risk & Compliance Director (COLP) and provide support and firm-wide advice on all Risk & Compliance matters.
As the successful Risk & Compliance Lawyer, you'll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Providing advice and guidance to Partners, Lawyers and Business Support teams on legal and regulatory risk/compliance issues
- Assisting the Risk & Compliance Director in advising on Professional Indemnity and insurance reviews
- Maintaining the firms' central registers
- Drafting, monitoring and advising on Risk & Compliance policies
- Offering expert advise on the SRA Handbook
- Supporting and maintaining the firms annual audit processes in relation to Risk & Compliance
- Deputising for the Risk & Compliance Director when required
- Supporting the Data Protection Partner in routine enquiries and potential breaches
- Assisting with the reviewing and advising on Terms of Engagement (amongst other projects)
To be considered for this new opportunity, you'll need to have/be the following:
- Be a Qualified Lawyer with a current Practising Certificate (5+ PQE minimum)
- Have extensive experience in Legal Risk & Compliance
- Have in-depth knowledge of the SRA Principles and Code of Conduct
- Be able to commute to the London office on a regular basis
