Our client, a specialist UK law firm, is actively recruiting for an experienced Legal Risk & Compliance professional to join them on a permanent basis in their London office – working as their new Risk & Compliance Manager.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking senior level Risk & Compliance professional to strengthen thee Risk & Compliance team, putting their own stamp on the role.
As the successful Risk & Compliance Manager, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Working closely with the firms’ external AML provider to ensure the smooth onboarding of clients
- Ensuring compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct
- Assessing, ID’ing and mitigating risks relating to clients and conflicts of interest
- Regularly providing compliance training to staff at all levels (Partners, Solicitors, staff)
- Conducting file reviews to ensure compliance
- Supporting the Complaints Manager where appropriate
- Working closely with the Data Protection Manager to oversee compliance with GDPR
- Developing and maintaining policies and procedures
- Being the main/first point of contact for all Fee-Earners regarding advice and guidance on conflicts, ethics, SRA Standard and professional conduct

To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need to have/be the following:
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Risk & Compliance for a law firm
- Have detailed knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct and SRA Standards
- Be able to manage colleague expectations effectively
- Ideally, have some supervisory/team leader experience
- Be able to commute to the London office at least 3 days a week
