Court of Protection Paralegal | West Kent | Hybrid
West Kent – around 45 minutes by train from London Bridge
Hybrid – 3 days in the office / 2 days from home
I am partnered with a leading UK law firm looking for a Paralegal to join its established Court of Protection team. This is an award winning team, nationally recognised as one of the largest and most experienced in the country.
This is a great opportunity for someone with Court of Protection experience who enjoys a mix of legal, financial and client-facing work, supporting vulnerable clients and their families.
The role will involve:
• Managing financial and banking aspects of deputyship matters
• Preparing annual deputyship accounts and reports
• Assisting with Court of Protection applications
• Managing cash flow, payments and financial records
• Liaising with clients, families, banks, financial advisers and other professionals
• Supporting welfare benefit claims and tax return preparation
• Assisting with contentious matters and evidence
• Drafting and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney
Requirements:
• Previous Court of Protection experience
• Good knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Court of Protection procedures
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• A calm, empathetic approach when dealing with vulnerable clients and families
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
Experience working with clients with acquired brain injuries would be desirable.
