We are seeking an experienced PMO Manager to join the Project Delivery Team on a maternity cover contract through to Summer 2027. This role will support the successful delivery of strategic transformation initiatives across the firm, alongside projects focused on legal, regulatory, operational, and business-as-usual (BAU) improvements.
Reporting to the Head of Project Delivery, you will play a key role in driving governance, project oversight, reporting, and PMO best practice across a varied portfolio of change programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage effective project pipeline tracking, monitoring, and governance processes across transformation initiatives.
- Partner closely with Project Managers and project owners to support project setup, delivery, and status reporting.
- Capture, monitor, and track key actions arising from business engagements to ensure successful completion.
- Maintain and oversee core project documentation and reporting standards.
- Promote and embed project management best practice across programmes and stakeholders.
- Create and enhance PMO templates and frameworks, including:
- Plan-on-a-Page
- Project intake documentation
- RAID logs
- Requirements tracking
- Action logs / Kanban boards
- Produce timely, high-quality materials for governance forums and senior stakeholder reporting.
- Develop and manage timelines to ensure key deliverables and reporting milestones are achieved.
- Ensure project updates, amendments, and status changes are accurately captured and followed through to completion.
- Support projects coordinated by the Project Delivery Team, including project initiation and mobilisation activities.
- Track project schedules, meetings, dependencies, and delivery milestones to maintain momentum and accountability.
- Design and deliver insightful reporting for senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations, including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards, Regulations, and Principles.
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified and/or professionally certified in Business Analysis or Project Management.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management qualification desirable.
- Proven experience operating in a PMO, PMO Lead, or PMO Manager capacity within a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale transformation projects or change programmes, ideally within a professional services environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Background in operations, governance, and process improvement.
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as:
- Jira
- Azure DevOps (ADO)
- Smartsheet
- HighQ
- Trello
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing team members is advantageous.
