Real Estate Litigation Paralegal | Birmingham

We are partnered with a leading international law firm that is looking to add a Paralegal to its highly regarded Real Estate Litigation team in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a top-tier disputes practice, working alongside experienced lawyers on a broad range of high-quality commercial property litigation matters.

You'll support the team on a varied caseload of Real Estate Litigation matters, gaining hands-on experience while working closely with associates and partners. The work is both challenging and diverse, with exposure to high-profile clients and complex property disputes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with business lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, including preparing and serving statutory notices.
  • Supporting court proceedings relating to lease renewals and interim rent claims.
  • Preparing court documents, witness evidence and bundles.
  • Assisting with managed exits from commercial premises, including break notices and statutory notices.
  • Supporting matters involving rent arrears, breach of covenant claims and other landlord and tenant disputes.
  • Liaising regularly with clients, counsel and other third parties to help progress matters efficiently.
  • Providing general support to fee earners across a busy and collaborative litigation team.

This opportunity would suit someone with previous paralegal experience in Real Estate Litigation, although candidates with experience in Commercial Litigation or Commercial Real Estate who are looking to move into this area will also be considered.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous paralegal or legal assistant experience within a commercial law firm.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and drafting skills.
  • A proactive approach and a willingness to take ownership of your work.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A genuine interest in developing a career in Real Estate Litigation.
