This client has a history going back to the late 1800s when they were established in the City of London. They opened their first overseas office in the 1970s and now have offices in ten locations across the globe. With over 500 lawyers worldwide, they are a dynamic, commercial firm and leaders in their specialist business areas.
They are now looking for a FP&A Analyst, who is required to support the FP&A team in achieving its goals and objectives..
Responsibilities
- Preparation and distribution of month-end fee earner reporting packs and assistance in design and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and Excel tools.
- Gaining a deep understanding of performance report statistics to enable the fielding of all associated queries.
- Responding to Partner and Associate requests and queries in relation to their key performance statistics.
- The successful candidate will need to possess or quickly gain a deep understanding of the data sources of management reports by developing expertise of the EDI data warehouse and Elite 3E, the firm's practice management system.
- Assisting the Senior Group Reporting Analyst, FP&A team and Office Finance Managers to proactively deliver improvements to FP&A reporting processes, including report-design and delivery and assisting in the development and implementation of financial performance dashboards.
- Working with the Senior Group Reporting Analyst and Finance sub-departments to identify operational efficiency improvements through application of technology.
- Documentation of existing and newly implemented financial processes including involvement in upgrade projects and testing as required to ensure reliable outputs.
- Assisting the Senior Group Reporting Analyst and Head of Finance in providing HR and other functions with key performance data specific to their requirements.
- Assisting with ad hoc Management Board, Senior Partner, Managing Partner and other senior management queries
- Assisting with ensuring consistent calculation of key financial statistics and working with the FP&A team and other stakeholders to ensure their correct inclusion in legal surveys and wider publication.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Data Science or closely related analytical discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in FP&A.
- Experience with Power BI, and enthusiasm to develop technically.
- Proficient in Excel, including nested formulae, lookups, dynamic arrays and Power Query.
- Efficient at data extraction from finance systems and comfortable working with large datasets.
- Experience in legal sector or professional services desirable but not essential.
