We are recruiting on behalf of a leading international law firm for an experienced Senior Legal Secretary to join its highly regarded Private Equity team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment, providing high-level support to partners, counsel, associates, and trainees.

Fluency in both French and English (spoken, written, and reading) is essential for this role.

As a key member of the team, you will provide proactive secretarial and administrative support, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of a busy practice. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing busy and complex diaries, arranging meetings, and resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Preparing, formatting, amending, and proofreading legal documents, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Monitoring and managing fee earner inboxes, ensuring emails are actioned and filed appropriately.
  • Assisting with the billing process and liaising closely with the Finance team.
  • Supporting the opening of new clients and matters, including conflict checks and engagement documentation.
  • Organising international travel and preparing detailed travel itineraries.
  • Maintaining and updating contact databases and CRM systems.
  • Managing electronic and hard copy filing systems to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
  • Processing time entries and expense claims where required.
  • Handling telephone calls and correspondence professionally and efficiently.
  • Coordinating document production tasks, including scanning, printing, and binding.
  • Providing support with business development activities and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the wider business support function and contributing to a positive team environment.

About You

  • Previous experience supporting partners within a legal environment.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong IT skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • A proactive, professional, and flexible approach, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
