My client, a U.S. based, globally- established and growing law firm are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join their finance team and support the firm’s financial operations.

Role Overview

The accountant will be responsible for managing key financial processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across accounts payable, cash management, and regulatory reporting. This role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity of the firm and supporting audit and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Accounts Payable function, including invoice processing, approvals, and supplier payments
  • Oversee cash receipts and ensure accurate and timely posting of client and office account transactions
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, including Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, cash handling, reconciliations, and VAT
  • Experience supporting audits and working with auditors
  • Knowledge of legal accounting rules and client account management is an advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
